Leading on from looking at reptiles, I also found turtles really interesting as well, the composition of lines and that slightly stippled, motley green shading is really fascinating. Its quite smooth in its surface and its not highly textured, but the colouring adds the illusion of there being much more depth to the texture of the shell than there actually is.
